FREE ONLINE CIRCUIT SIMULATOR

Build a circuit.
See it work.

Voltasium is a free online circuit simulator with a 3D electronics bench. Connect components, measure voltage and current, and explore AC and DC circuits in your browser.

FROM A LAMP TO A WHOLE CIRCUIT

Start simple. Add something new.

AT THE BENCH

Start with a simple circuit.

Build your first circuit
  1. Choose your parts.

Bring a battery, lamp and switch onto the bench. Arrange them however you like.

  2. Make the connections.

Connect the terminals with wires, then close the switch. See how the circuit responds.

  3. Take a closer look.

Measure with the multimeter. Change a component, or try AC and watch the waveform on the oscilloscope.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A few things to know.

Can I use the circuit simulator without an account?

Yes. Open the lab and start experimenting for free. An account lets you save and reopen projects. You can also export the current desk to a file without signing in.

What can I build and measure?

Start with batteries, lamps, switches and resistors, then explore capacitors, diodes, LEDs and transformers. Use the multimeter for voltage, current and resistance, or the oscilloscope to observe a changing voltage. The lab guide explains wiring and measurements.

Where should I start if I am new to electronics?

Try our first circuit and Ohm’s law experiment. Connect a battery and resistor, predict the current, then compare your calculation with the meter. The same guide introduces series and parallel connections.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

The lab has touch controls as well as keyboard and mouse controls. It needs a browser with JavaScript and WebGL enabled; performance depends on your device. Landscape orientation gives you more room to see the bench.

How close is the simulation to a physical circuit?

The models include effects such as battery internal resistance, meter loading, stored energy and component overloads. Results depend on the model and settings. Voltasium is an educational simulator, not a substitute for testing real equipment. Read the educational-use notes for its limitations.
